Career

We offer inspiring and challenging projects. If you want to be part of our exciting venture, please do not hesitate to apply.

Bachelor/Diplom/Master students:

If you have an open, creative and enthusiastic mind and love a challenge, please apply with CV, references we could contact, copies of your papers/manuscripts, and ... whatever you would like.

A side note: Generally, these positions are considered internships because you still have, well, A LOT to learn. Therefore, they are usually not paid positions (exceptions prove the rule).

MD-students:

Cellular and molecular pain research is super-exciting! It requires extensive planning, preparation, cell culture, and computational analysis skills, as well as time. If you feel like joining us on a tightly supervised rollercoaster ride through the adventures of science, and if you are willing to spend 6 months or more full time in our lab, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Please be aware: we are a hands-on basic science lab! Therefore, we do not usually give out pure meta-analysis studies as topics for your MD."

You are not sure yet?

To test whether pain signalling is really what you want to research, whether you and your supervisor are a good match and whether your skills fit the project, we offer "on-site" taster courses. Before you definitely decide to join one of our projects and do your Bachelor's/Master's/MD, you can join us for 2-8 h per week for a few weeks to learn our central technique: the preparation and cultivation of dorsal root ganglia. Once you have mastered this technique, we will sit down together to figure out what exactly you will do during your project.
